Evaluation of group presentation

Overall, the exhibition idea which we created was well thought out and had a strong purpose. The collateral of which we created followed the chosen brand guidelines well and communicated our idea successfully. The idea was cost effective, with the use of University resources and also well suited to the audience due to being able to gain an insight into university and being a free event. All group members contributed and completed their role within the group which made the delivery of the idea a success.

The problems that we occurred within the group was not being able to make quick decisions, with the process of having a final; colour palette and specifications for the design elements taking a considerable amount of time, which took time away from creating and practising the presentation. Another problem which occurred within the group was the crossing over of roles. Everyone within the group helped each other and gave continual feedback however some members got carried away with trying to do someone else’s role, which made it more difficult to try and reach a final outcome. With being a group of 8 we occurred difference in opinion as expected, however with all these opinions it was quite difficult to reach a decided conclusion.

Within my role in the group, I was satisfied with the contribution I made and the outcome of the promotional material. Myself and Selina worked well together and shared ideas to each other which was helpful to lead to a final solution. The problems we faced within our role was the changing of colours, image and logo at a late stage which proved to limit the experimentation of more ambitious outcomes.
The feedback which was given in response to the presentation was that the idea is already happening and exists in a very similar way. Also, it was stated that the workshop shouldn’t require a deposit and should be free. However, the workshopbeing ran by existing graphic design students is an interesting concept. With our group being the runners up and running the workshop in due course, to improve we should perhaps continue to develop the collateral and have a refined design for the promotional material. Also, more in depth planning will be in place for the workshop content of which we will deliver and perhaps re working the costings which will suit the exact needs more accurately.
