own poster and group

When presented with the film of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory from the Stone twins, each person in our group watched the film and interpreted it into a poster design, of which we then had a mini critique and decided which idea we liked best in order to turn into the final screen printed design for the film. The route I took when designing the poster was using a less obvious design of using the characters and instead focusing on less documented aspects of the film, such as the sweets. The illustration represents Charlie's house, with the sweets on top of the house representing the storyline of Charlie taking over the chocolate factory.

The poster chosen in the group was a more simplistic approach as it reflects the work of the Stone Twins more, with also the minimalistic approach being effective and challenging what advertising material is already out there.
