our initial ideas for the film festival was:
to name it legally downloaded- in order to play upon the fact that many youths illegally download films
the concept would be tied together by the ticket idea of using an usb stick- of which would plug in and reveal the films and have something interactive
The logo would be digital like, perhaps a loading sign
The social media would be of taking pictures of ports, in order to link into the usb downloading element, that would also be more of a mysterious way of marketing the festival- like the Stone Twins
Suggestions from the crit:
The name of play/pause is more effective with the playful element that could be used by pausing the movie and having 'mini briefs' of which would also be the audiences time to play
Having mini briefs of which relate to each of the 8 movies, for example creating a sweet wrapper which relates to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
with the idea of the usb stick, having it control the popcorn and the tickets, when put into a computer for the use of the ticket it could come up with a password, that however doesn't lock you out and can be used
The logo could be a glitching pause and play sign, that is flickering
Could have stickers that state the legally downloaded first concept
Have the link of stealing things, developed form the illegal idea, by incorporating the idea of stealing ideas and work- 'you wouldn't download a thought'
the poster- to change the text to be a more minimal style, instead of using the Willy Wonka style font
to make it portrait, to make the look more realistic of a person
